Peptides for Visceral Fat Loss
Best peptides for visceral fat loss are tesamorelin or tesamorelin blends. It works with the pituitary gland to help your body naturally release more growth hormone. This increases IGF-1 levels and helps reduce deep belly fat around the organs.

How do peptides target visceral and belly fat?
Tesamorelin is unique because it’s the only peptide FDA-approved to specifically reduce visceral fat. It’s sold as Egrifta for excess abdominal fat in adults with HIV-related lipodystrophy.
Other peptides, such as AOD-9604 and the combination CJC-1295 + ipamorelin, have been studied for similar effects, but they are not FDA-approved for this purpose.

Does tesamorelin work on visceral fat?
Tesamorelin carries the strongest human dataset of any compound on this site. In pooled Phase 3 trials, HIV lipodystrophy patients showed visceral adipose reductions of roughly 15 to 18 percent over 26 weeks, and a 2014 JAMA trial reproduced the effect while also examining liver fat. The table below is the honest summary.

| Finding | Model |
|---|---|
| 15 to 18 percent visceral adipose reduction | Phase 3 trials, HIV lipodystrophy (2010) |
| Visceral and liver fat effects reproduced | JAMA randomized trial (2014) |
| FDA approval as Egrifta | HIV-associated lipodystrophy only (2010) |
| AOD-9604 human weight trials | Did not meet endpoints |
What this evidence does not cover
The approval is specific to HIV-associated lipodystrophy; no trial supports general fat loss in healthy people, and visceral fat returned after discontinuation in the trials. Research vials are not pharmacy Egrifta, and anything sold as a slimming product is grey market by definition. A batch-matched third-party COA remains the minimum standard.

What does tesamorelin cost per mg?
Research-market tesamorelin runs $40 to $90 for a 5 to 10mg vial, about $8 per mg — a fraction of pharmacy grade options.
If you plan to use Tesamorelin for non-research purposes, talk to your physician to get a prescription.
