What is BPC-157?
BPC-157 was produced by researchers in a lab; it is an artificial peptide created using a series of 15 amino acids. Research on animals and labs suggests that BPC-157 may be involved in the way the body reacts to injuries, inflammatory responses, and tissue damage (including tendon and muscle). Peptides act as tiny messengers which communicate to cells what they should be doing. Researchers are currently investigating if BPC-157 affects any signal(s) that are part of the body’s normal healing processes.

Does BPC-157 Work for Tendon Repair?
In rats and cell cultures, the studies indicate that this compound aids in repairing and recovering. In 2011, a study published in the Journal of Applied Physiology indicated that BPC-157 was able to promote tendon fibroblast growth (outgrowth), survival and movement (migration).
Following on from this research, further studies were conducted in 2014 which demonstrated an increase in the number of growth hormone receptors on tendon fibroblasts. Surprisingly, however, a 2025 systematic review has failed to identify any human studies. The following table provides a brief overview of these results. What this evidence does not cover
Every finding above comes from animal or cell research. No published human randomized trial has tested BPC-157 for tendon repair, and nothing here is FDA approved. Anything marketed as a finished healing product is grey market by definition; a recent, batch-matched third-party COA is the minimum standard.
