What Is DSIP?
Two Swiss researchers, Schoenenberger and Monnier, found DSIP while evaluating blood from sleeping rabbits. This blood was then administered to a group of rabbits who were still awake and the same slow wave pattern showed up in the awake rabbits. The active part turned out to be a small peptide. However, despite decades of work, it hasn’t been settled what it does in the human body.
Does DSIP Work for Sleep?
This is one of the few research peptides with real human trials. Those trials are why interest in DSIP faded. Two double-blind studies gave DSIP to people with long-term insomnia and the results were not convincing.
Both reported small gains in falling asleep and staying asleep. Results varied a lot between people, and nobody took the compound further. The table below is a brief summary of the research.

What this evidence does not cover
DSIP was studied for a decade and then dropped, which is its own kind of answer. The human data is small, old, and mixed. It has no approval in any country. It is not a sleeping pill or proven sleep aid. Long-term insomnia has treatments with real evidence behind them.
