Peptides for Sex

Peptides for sex typically impact two different signals in the body (1) the brain’s receptors for desire or (2) hormones tied to arousal.

Kisspeptin handles the hormone side. Think of it as the start button for the body’s testosterone system. When researchers gave it to healthy men in a published study, their testosterone went up. PT-141 and Melanotan II handle the arousal side. Both work on receptors in the brain, not on blood flow. PT-141 has the strongest proof. Melanotan II came first, and PT-141 was made from it. In a 1998 study, Melanotan II produced erections in men with ED. That result is the whole reason PT-141 exists.

Why These Three

In simple terms each of these peptides have gained a lot of popularity for different reasons.

Kisspeptin: This peptide can cause the body to produce testosterone, help to make sperm, and activate parts of the brain associated with being sexually stimulated or attracted to someone.

PT-141: or bremelanotide (Vyleisi) has recently made headlines after gaining approval from the FDA for treatment of low sexual desire in premenopausal women. It works as a melanocortin receptor agonist on the central nervous system as opposed to increasing blood flow.

Melatonan II: is the parent compound of PT-141. In a 1998 study of men with psychogenic ED the authors used Melanotan II to obtain erections in the males involved in the study. The following years of research would lead to the formation of PT-141.

Overall these 3 compounds are able to replicate the entire reproductive axis from hormonal drive to central arousal.

Which one increases libido for men?

Kisspeptin was experimentally used to treat individuals who experience low sexual desire. A random and placebo controlled study involving 32 men experiencing reduced levels of sexual desire showed that intravenous delivery of kisspeptin-54 resulted in changes in how the brain processed information related to sex and increased measures of sexual desire and arousal along with erectile responses.

Additionally, similar research conducted on women experiencing low sexual desire revealed that kisspeptin resulted in changes in the way the brain processed information regarding both sex and attraction. Bremelanotide (PT-141) — This is the only experimental drug to date that has demonstrated a measurable effect in terms of treating individuals with low sexual desire. Bremelanotide, or RAM-melanotide, was the first peptide approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to be utilized as a treatment option for acquired, generalized hypoactive sexual desire disorder (HSDD) in premenopausal women.

Do any peptides increase sex drive for women?

PT-141 (Bremelanotide): Bremelanotide has been FDA approved for use in treating low sexual desire in women who are premenopausal and have HSDD. In clinical trials, it has been shown to increase sexual desire in these women. However, it has not been approved for use as a libido enhancer for women in general, and it is not approved for use in postmenopausal women with low sexual desire.

Kisspeptin: Early human studies on this peptide (in the reproductive hormone system) show that it can affect the brain centers that regulate sexual desire and sexual arousal in women. But, it is very experimental, and is not approved by the FDA to treat low sex drive in women.

Common Questions

Are these third-party tested?

Yes. Each vial ships against a signed, batch-matched certificate of analysis from an ISO 17025 testing program, viewable on the product page before checkout.

What do they cost?

Kisspeptin is $49.99 for 10mg, PT-141 is $29.99 for 10mg, and Melanotan II is $29.95 for 10mg. All three together stay just over the $100 free-shipping line.

What about fakes?

Because Sexual-health compounds attract more counterfeits than any other peptide class, Vyleesi headlines have highlighted PT-141 as a prime target. Verify the COA against the batch number printed on the bottom of the vial for any Vyleesi listings here and elsewhere.
