What is PT-141?
PT-141, also called bremelanotide, was spun out of melanotan research when trial volunteers reported an unexpected effect of spontaneous erections. In 2019 the FDA approved PT-141 (bremelanotide) under the trade name Vyleesi; however, this approval was for only premenopausal women. As far as men are concerned, it continues to be used as a research compound and one of the most frequently purchased compounds available.
Does PT-141 work in men?
The male data is actual however it is also dated. In 2004, a randomized double blind placebo controlled trial of intranasal PT-141 assessed the effect of intranasal PT-141 on erectile response in both healthy men and men who experienced mild to moderate Erectile Dysfunction (ED). In 2005, a subsequent study found that there was an increased response to PT-141 when it was co-administered with Sildenafil. The male program was eventually closed down.
